Colleen Olson, Co-Founder, President

Colleen has dedicated her life and her career to helping institutions and families better serve children with special needs. She obtained her doctorate in Special Education Administration from Teachers College at Columbia University, following a master’s program in Special Education at the University of Virginia and an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Special Education from James Madison University. Colleen spent six years working directly with children with significant emotional and learning disabilities across several environments as a special education teacher. She is co-founder of DHPS Foundation, an organization dedicated to seeking treatments for rare genetic disorders, including one that affects two of her three children. Colleen is excited to be a member of this board to bridge her professional and personal experiences to help advocate and advance scientific and medical research for the advancement of patient care.

 


Tagar Olson, Co-Founder, Secretary and Treasurer

Tagar Olson (New York) joined KKR in 2002. He heads the Financial Services as well as the Hospitality and Leisure industry teams and sits on the Investment Committee within KKR’s Americas Private Equity platform. In the financial services sector, Mr. Olson has been involved in numerous transactions including KKR’s investments in Alliant Insurance Services, First Data, Focus Financial Partners, Latitude Financial, Legg Mason, Nephila, PURE, Santander Consumer USA, Sedgwick, USI Insurance Services and WMIH Corp. In the hospitality and leisure sector, Mr. Olson has been involved with KKR’s investments in Apple Leisure Group, KSL Recreation, Hotel del Coronado and La Costa Resort & Spa. He currently serves on the boards of directors of Apple Leisure Group, First Data, PURE, Sedgwick, USI and WMIH Corp. Prior to joining KKR, Mr. Olson was with Evercore Partners Inc., where he was involved in a number of private equity transactions and mergers and acquisitions. He holds a B.S. and B.A.S., summa cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Olson is a member of the Board of Overseers at NYU Langone Medical Center.

 


Vivek Bantwal

Vivek is co-head of the Americas Credit Finance Group at Goldman Sachs, overseeing the firm’s Leveraged Finance and Structured Finance businesses. He is also head of the Natural Resources Financing Group and leads the Commodity Risk Management Initiative. Vivek serves as a member of the Firmwide Capital Committee and is captain of the University of Pennsylvania analyst recruiting team.

Vivek was born and raised in the Philadelphia area and went to the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.  He serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of Seeds of Peace. He also serves on the Leadership Council of the Mindich Child Health Development Institute at Mt. Sinai, and is a member of the Academy of the University of Pennsylvania. He lives in Tribeca with his wife Sarika, their son Devan, and their identical twin daughters Avni and Diya.

 


Ted Goldthorpe

Ted Goldthorpe is a Managing Partner and head of Credit for BC Partners. He joined in 2017. He is also a member of the Private Equity Investment Committee. Mr. Goldthorpe was most recently the President of Apollo Investment Corporation, Chief Investment Officer of Apollo Investment Management, and Senior Portfolio Manager, U.S. Opportunistic Credit. Mr. Goldthorpe joined Apollo in April 2012 and oversaw the Opportunistic Credit platform within Apollo aggregating over $20bn in Assets Under Management, which grew dramatically during his tenure. His most recent focus was on the Direct Origination business. He was named to the firmwide Senior Management Committee in 2014.

Previously, Mr. Goldthorpe was employed by Goldman Sachs & Co. since 1999. He most recently ran the Bank Loan and Distressed Investing Desk and prior to that was a Managing Director in the Special Situations Group, running both their Middle Market Private Equity business and the Canadian business (CSSG). Prior to that, Mr. Goldthorpe worked in the High Yield Distressed business, the Merchant Banking Division and the Investment Banking Division.

Mr. Goldthorpe has previously served on the boards of SPARTA Insurance Holdings, Inc., Flatiron Re, JHT Holdings, Baxa Healthcare, Shelter Bay, Fairway Energy, amongst others, and was a board observer for First Solar, amongst others.
Mr. Goldthorpe received a B.A. in Commerce from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. He is a frequent guest lecturer at leading Universities including Columbia, University of Pennsylvania (Wharton), University of Virginia, New York University, Queen’s University, and Stanford University. Mr. Goldthorpe currently serves on the Global Advisory Board for the Queen’s School of Business. He is the Chairman of the Young Fellowship of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and serves on the board of Directors for HerJustice and Capitalize for Kids.


Nicole Greene

Nicole has a public health and hospital administration background.  She obtained her BA from Smith College and her Master’s degree of Public Health Concentration in Health Policy and Administration Yale University School of Epidemiology and Public Health. She has over fifteen years of healthcare experience, including five plus years in healthcare consulting and ten years in hospital administration at New York-Presbyterian Hospital.   Her hospital experience was primarily in digestive diseases where she was responsible for hiring and managing all staff, recruited and onboarded key physicians and managed relationships with key physicians, Chairmen, hospital staff and department administrators.  She co-managed Helmlsey Charitable Trust relationship with Development.  She coordinated responses to all donor requests and interim reports and managed donor budgets and monitored center progress and metrics.  She was a Co-Founder, NewLeaders, New York-Presbyterian Hospital (2005-2012) which raised over $1M for the Hospital.  Since 2013, she has been a Board Member of Public Prep Academies (2013-Present) and Co-Director of the PublicPrep’s Development Committee. PublicPrep is a non-profit, single-sex elementary and middle school charter network in New York City.
